SLP in Harmony provides local community-based programs and resources to promote speech and language development. We are located in Greater Sacramento, CA.
Equally important - we value family wellness, self-care, and mental health. All are welcome. Your role is meaningful, but it can be a lot. Our wellness resources aim to address overall health and wellbeing using a holistic and integrative approach.
About the Founder
Sophi Hinks, M.S. CCC-SLP, is a pediatric speech-language pathologist (SLP) with experience in schools (K-12), early intervention (ages 0-3), and private practice, all of which have helped develop her specialized interest in neurodiversity-affirming practices and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). She received her B.A. in Communicative Disorders at CSU Northridge. Prior to graduate school, she worked 5+ years as a behavioral aide for youth & adults with disabilities and as an inclusion educator for a nonprofit organization. Sophi went on to receive her M.S. in speech-language pathology from University of New Mexico (UNM).
Sophi is passionate in child-led, play-based, and holistic approaches to communication and feeding development, while educating and supporting families. When she is not wearing her SLP hat, she is mentoring the SLP grad student community and learning about integrative medicine. Sophi believes all children deserve opportunities to shine as they are - using individual and family interests, play, acceptance, and exploration!
